Destination Greater Victoria
Over the past year, we have been welcoming many locals aboard the Duen as our out of town guests are thwarted by the pandemic to come to our city in great numbers. We are truly grateful for the support from Victoria businesses, Vancouver Island residents who have kept the ‘faith’ during Covid.
We are all looking to the future and in the coming years we will be looking to our tourism organization to both promote Victoria as a destination.
The Greater Victoria Visitors & Convention Bureau is the official destination marketing organization that works in partnership with over 800 business members and municipalities in Greater Victoria and the surrounding communities in British Columbia, Canada.
One of the services provided by Destination Greater Victoria includes the downtown Visitor Information Centre, one of the busiest in the province. Victoria's official travellers' resource is located in the heart of the Inner Harbour at the intersection of Government Street and Wharf Street. The Visitor Centre assists travellers with many services such as reservations for accommodations, sightseeing, adventure tours and transportation.
We were approached to host a corporate outing for destination Victoria and we jumped at the chance. Not only were we getting a half day charter, but we were bringing on board the exact people who can recommend our company to tourists visiting the city. The big day was scheduled, and we crossed our fingers for good weather.
On this trip we hoped for fine breezes and nice weather to allow us to put up full sail and really show the people at Destination Victoria what a day on the water was really like. We were blessed with a perfect day.
It was a complete success, as we welcomed some fantastic local people on board and proudly sailed them about.
